If I could tell you one thing that I learned this year, it would be to start.
But that wouldn't be enough because I'd also need to tell you to keep going after you start. But you can't worry about that second part if you haven't even started yet, so focus on just starting.
So many people don't even start. But out of the few that do, many get that initial euphoria and then quit. So even fewer people continue on.
A big reason people seem to quit is because they can't see the results.
But results or no results, it shouldn't matter.
Win, lose or draw; it doesn't matter.
Failure or success doesn't matter.
Good and bad emotions are all a part of the journey.
In the end, if you don't start, you'll never have the journey, and you'll never get to taste the loss or the win, the failure or the success. You'll never even have a chance at the result if you don't start.
But after you start, continuing on is the result.
I learned this year that in the iterations are guaranteed successes. I wrote articles that no one read and a few that tens of thousands of people read. If you haven't seen any success yet, it's just because you need more iterations. I struggled to get users for my App for months; then, one thread got me thousands. If all you got so far from flipping a coin is tails, you just haven't flipped the coin enough times.
So if I could tell you one thing I learned this year, it's to start and keep going. Don't worry about the results because we're already getting them.
